			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The NYC DOE held a high school admissions fair for students in the Bronx on October 24 and 25th at Roosevelt High School (500 East Fordham Road) from 10am-3pm. The fair was for 8th and 9th graders applying for high schools or transfers and included information on the application process for screened schools. Students must return their school selection forms by December 4, 2009. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <a href="http://blogs.villagevoice.com/forkintheroad/archives/2009/09/nycs_wholesale.php" target="_blank">Village Voice</a> reported this week that the wholesale farmer&#8217;s market in the Fulton Fish market was taken over by the Council on Environment for New York City. More importantly, this move has spread the word that the market is open to the general public, although only until 8:30 each morning and noon on Saturdays. Its incredible to think of those 14 farmers selling next to the commercialized market each morning&#8230; talk about David and Goliath. Now how do we get the fresh produce in the local stores in Hunts Point?</p>
