Selena Morales

I simply love Kenyon. As I made my way to my first class located at Ascension Hall, the completely different atmosphere immediately astonished me. Sitting in a classroom full of many talented and gifted young writers, I was amazed by the different techniques that they brought from their respective classrooms back home. The instructors are simply amazing, full of talent, and filled with creativity. At first, I did not expect to do so much writing in a session that lasted an hour and a half. Similar to my friend who is also attending the workshop, we both concluded that we wrote more in one morning session than in one week in English class at high school. Another thing that caught my attention was how rapidly people became friends. Shy people came out of their shell and went out to meet completely new people from places throughout the country. The diversity that the workshop offers allows us to gain a different point of view of other pieces of writing. Overall, I look forward to presenting and adopting new writing techniques that my peers have to offer me so I can perfect my writing for the rest of the workshop, and in my future years.
